Morgan Muir, OTR/L Occupational Therapist
Morgan Muir received her Masters in Occupational therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Upon graduation, Morgan worked as a clinical trauma interventionist in which she would assist with in-depth assessments of children in the foster system. During this time she became well-versed in the impact of trauma, post-traumatic stress, attachment, and resiliency factors in the development of children in the foster care system.
She has since focused her career on outpatient pediatrics, working with families to create treatment plans that improve activities of daily living, improve self-regulation and sensory processing, and increase motor skill acquisition of age-appropriate milestones. Morgan has a certification in the CAN-EAT Approach to feeding therapy as well as knowledge regarding various feeding strategies that help picky eaters expand their diets in a way that is child led and based in family engagement.
Morgan is also skilled in areas of advocating for additional services, IEP writing, writing letters of medical necessity, and creating home exercise programs that can be easily implemented in daily life. Morgan enjoys child-led therapy, creativity, and self-expression while engaging her clients in evidenced based interventions. She is passionate about increasing a child’s independence in everyday tasks and having fun while doing it!
Morgan evaluates and treats at the Angier clinic as well as works with Achievement Charter School to evaluate and recommend school-based OT services.
Outside of work, Morgan enjoys hiking, running with her dog, reading, and baking. She enjoys spending time with her husband and friends.
